ACH and Direct Deposit

To sign up for Direct Deposit for your paycheck with your employer or your Social Security check, you will need:

  • UFCW Community Federal Credit Union Routing and Transit number – 231387136

  • Your 10-digit account number if you are depositing into a Share Draft/ Checking Account. You can find this on the bottom of your checks, or you can get it from a representative at one of our branch offices

  • OR Your regular account number if you are depositing into your Share/Savings Account

If you need any assistance, all branch offices have forms and will help you complete them for your convenience.

ACH Credit (deposits made to account)

  • When a Company or organization releases funds to be deposited into your account, they do not post immediately. UFCW Community FCU posts those funds when they are received

  • We cannot post funds that we did not receive

Example: You work for X Company. X Company releases money on 9/5 to be deposited into your account for your payroll. Your account will not be credited on 9/5 as it is in transit between institutions. Normally, it takes 2 to 3 days after funds are released to be received and deposited into your account.

Example: You receive a monthly Social Security check. Social Security Administration may release your funds on 9/29 but your account is not credited on 9/29. The funds are in transit and are deposited into your account 2 to 3 days later. When you call Social Security, they tell you they released the funds on 9/29, but that does not mean UFCW Community Federal Credit Union will receive the funds on that day.

  • If you receive two deposits on the same day from the same Company (for example, your regular pay and bonus pay), both of those deposits will be posted to one account. You can no longer split the deposits, whereby one deposit goes to the checking account, and the other goes into the savings account. You can make transfers to the account you would like to via Online Banking Virtual Branch

  • When a member and their spouse work for the same company and allocations were set up to pull half from each deposit, that no longer happens. The automatic transfers are only pulling from one deposit. (This does not pertain to individual accounts)

  • Automatic Transfers from a direct deposit are not done immediately. These transfers are processed in the evening

ACH Bill Payments

  • If you are paying a bill using the Routing Number and Account Number, the funds do not immediately come out of your account. It takes 2 to 3 days. Therefore, do not include amounts that you have previously authorized to be withdrawn from your account in your available balance

ACH Stop Payments

  • The system recognizes a Stop Payment for ACH by the EXACT dollar amount. This means that the amount filled out on the Stop Payment Form by the member is the amount that will be processed. It must be the exact amount that was originally submitted; otherwise, it will process the amount written on the form. Also, the name on the form must match the signature

    • For example: If a joint owner is disputing a transaction, the printed name and signature must be the joint owner’s name

Automatic Loan Payments

  • If your loan payment is set up to automatically transfer from your Checking or Savings Account to your loan, the payments will be deducted from your account and posted to your loan in the evening, not in the morning.

  • You can set up recurring transfers.

    • Example:  Your loan payments will automatically transfer from your checking or savings account to your loan account by setting up the amount, date, and frequency of transfer.  Go to the Transfers Tab and follow the instructions.

Troubleshooting Tips for Virtual Branch/Online Banking

How do I reset my security code for Virtual Branch/Online Banking?

  • Sign in to Online Banking with your login credentials

  • Choose the “Forgot Security Code” tab. A message will appear stating:

    • A temporary security code has been sent to your email address. Your email will usually arrive in 1-2 minutes but may take longer (please allow up to 10 minutes.) Please log on again using your Logon ID and temporary Security Code. If you do not log on within 15 minutes of the time your temporary security code was created, it will no longer be valid. You will need to select “Forgot Security Code” again

  • Open your email. You will find the email includes a temporary security code. This is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly the way it appears – If you do not see the email, make sure to check your spam and junk files

  • Once you request a temporary security code to be sent to your email, please log out and then log back in. When it asks for a current passcode, you will need to use the temporary code that was issued to you. You then will be prompted to change your code
